Create your own make-up wipes

Make-up wipes are a girl’s best friend. Not only do you need them while removing make-up, you also need them when you are getting ready to go out.

Think back and recall all those times when you were applying make-up, and things kept going wrong. You either applied the wrong shade of lipstick or eye shadow, or a smudge appeared just as you reached out for something. It was your make-up wipe that saved the day.

The problem is make-up wipes are so easy to use, you tend to overuse them. They, thus, run out quickly. And they are not very cheap. What you need to do is create your own wipes right at home.

How to create your own make-up wipes

Did you know that the best make-up remover you can ever find is right in your kitchen (especially if you are a South Indian)? Yes, it is coconut oil. Using coconut oil, you can create a very effective make-up removing concoction.

Here is the DIY remover recipe.

Take a microwaveable bowl and mix two cups of water, two tablespoons of coconut oil, and two squirts of baby wash. Place the bowl in a microwave for a few seconds and stir.

Next, you need to make the wipes.

Take a container that has a lid that snaps shut. You can use a good food container (many restaurants pack food in such containers). Just wash it thoroughly and dry it. Then take some paper towels and cut them width-wise with a sharp knife. You need to make them fit the container.

Place the roll into the container and pour the make-up remover mixture over it.

Replace the lid and turn the container so that the mixture soaks the paper towels thoroughly. Leave for five minutes, then turn it over and remove the cardboard center.

Cut a small “X” in the lid to pull the wipes through.
