Ghee, the ideal skin care agent – Part III

Ghee is widely known to be a miracle ingredient in view of its health benefits and its use in hair and skin care. It is an excellent emollient and hydrating agent. In fact, ghee hydrates all skin types. Since it is packed with essential fatty acids, it induces hydration in skin cells, thus nourishing them, and treating dryness. It is also considered to be one of the best natural anti-aging solutions. Using ghee as a face moisturizer twice or thrice a week will make your skin soft and smooth.

Ghee as a face mask

Ghee is a great skin brightening agent. You can prepare a face mask by adding gram flour (besan) to equal amounts of ghee and water. You can also add milk to the mix. Blend the ingredients well and apply the paste evenly on your face and neck. Leave it on for 15 minutes and rinse off with water. Use this mask regularly for healthy and glowing skin.

Ghee as an anti-aging agent

Ghee is one of the best natural anti-aging agents. You need to take some pure desi ghee and massage your skin with it. It penetrates the layers of the skin and enters the tissues, thus making the skin cells healthy and youthful.

Ghee as a lip balm

Ghee locks in the natural moisture of the skin. It can, thus, be used for hydrating dry and chapped lips. Just take a dollop of ghee onto your fingertip and massage it into the lips gently. Leave overnight. Your lips will become soft and supple.

Ghee to remove dark circles

Lack of adequate sleep generally leads to dark circles, which make your skin look dull and lifeless. You can use ghee to get rid of them. Apply a little bit of ghee under your eyes and massage gently. Wash your face the next morning. If repeated every night, dark circles will soon become a thing of the past.
