The ideal winter face pack

So you enjoyed partying on Christmas, New Year’s Eve and New Year. Great, but how is your skin faring? In all probability, not too well. Winter does tend to dull the skin, and the party season makes things worse. Other than dullness, other issues like griminess and flakiness also crop up with irritating regularity.

Thankfully, fixing these problems is not too difficult, nor does it cost a packet. In fact, all you need to do is step into the kitchen. Here’s a recipe for dealing with dry, cracked skin.

DIY face mask for dry skin

Some form of skin dryness in winter is to be expected, but if you are facing a level of dryness that makes your face itch and feel tight and uncomfortable, you will need to do something about it.

Here’s what you can do.

Mash a slightly overripe banana in a shallow bowl. You can also put the banana in a mixer and then empty the paste in the bowl. Add two tablespoons of glycerin and one tablespoon of honey to it. Mix the ingredients thoroughly to form a thick paste. Apply it all over the face and neck. Leave it on for 30 minutes, and then rinse your face with warm water.

You will feel the difference immediately. This is because glycerin and banana are moisturizing agents, while honey is an excellent humectant. The combination of these ingredients leaves your skin nourished, moisturized and supple.

Go ahead and try it.
