Try the world-renowned 10-step Korean skincare routine

This might come as a bit of a surprise to some, but Korea is taking the world by storm when it comes to innovations in beauty products and trends. Americans are absolutely in love with Korean beauty products and techniques and it is just a matter of time before they start trending in India. In fact, they are already available in Mumbai.

Check out the world-famous Korean 10-step skin care routine.

The first thing you need to know about this 10-step regimen is that you do not have to follow all the 10 steps every day. You need to go through some steps on each day.

Step one: Oil cleanser

To start with, you need to apply an oil cleanser to dry skin. The purpose is to remove makeup and any other oil-based product debris, such as sunscreen and pollutants.

Step two: Foam cleanser

Koreans are fanatical about cleansing. So, after the oil cleansing comes the foam cleansing. You will have to use a water-based cleanser that has to be applied to wet skin. It will remove impurities, such as sweat and dirt. The double cleansing will leave your skin squeaky clean.

Step three: Exfoliator

This step is not recommended for daily use. It involves using an exfoliator that will clean clogged pores and slough off dead skin cells. As a result, brighter skin will be revealed.

Step four: Toner

After all the cleansing and exfoliating, your skin will become rather fragile. Hence, you will need to hydrate it. This is where the toner comes in handy. It will prep the skin to absorb the treatments that are to follow.

Step five: Essence

The essence is the heart of the Korean skin care routine. It involves the use of a product that works much like a toner.

Step Six: Serums, boosters, and ampoules

This step is not for everyone. It is only for those who have brown spots or pigmentation.

Step seven: Mask

The use of the mask depends on what your skin needs. You may need either a hydrating mask, or a brightening mask that is enriched with Vitamin C. Again, it is not an every-night step; you only need to do it twice a week.

Step eight: Eye cream

Depending on the eye cream you choose, this enables you to deal with fine lines and dark circles.

Step Nine: Face cream

This involves the use of a night cream that locks in moisture.

Step Ten: SPF

This involves using an SPF cream or gel every time you go out in the sun.
