India Couture Week: Anita Dongre’s ‘Tree of Love’ collection will make you stunned

On the penultimate day of India couture week, 2017 Designer Anita Dongre’s showcased its Winter ’17 collection ‘Tree of Love’, which was a tribute to the Bishnoi community, on the 6 days, organized by FDCI at Taj Palace hotel, Delhi.

Anita Dongre’s couture 2017 collection ‘Tree of Life’ was inspired by the tree worshiping Bishnoi community who will go to any lengths to protect what is sacred to them.

Dongre infused youth into her collection with tea-length skirts and dresses for the season. There were her signature gota Patti embroidered lehengas, long line jackets, and sheer saris. The designer used a deeper palette of deep reds, greens and blues offset with champagne gold.

The line showcased an eclectic mix of colors including hues of blue, rich maroons, inky black, and a stunning emerald green.

Showing her commitment to bridal comfort, the designer once again had models in gowns and lehengas walk the ramp hands in pockets which were a very interesting concept.

The designer employed the women artisans of SEWA (Self Employed Women’s Association) to work on her intricately detailed garments. And Dongre’s efforts to give back to the environment can’t go unmentioned.

Moreover, the designer will be planting 25,000 trees and shoppers who visit her store will also be gifted saplings to plant.

Well, I am so excited to see the closing ceremony of the India couture week isn’t u?
