Anushka Sharma slays as ‘Bawse lady’

Elle India just unveiled their new August cover, featuring whom they describe as “Bawse Lady Anushka Sharma”. On the cover, Sharma is seen with short hair slicked back, wearing a pantsuit and posing with her ankle resting on her knee. And she looks so ahh-mazing.

Striking quite a pose in a beige pantsuit by Michael Kors over a white top, Anushka seemed absolutely in control on the cover. She chose to keep her makeup minimal and fresh and accessorized with a brooch from Chanel and a pair of boots from 3.1 Phillip Lim. She styled her side-parted hair into a sleek, tight bun and looked like the ‘fierce bawse’ you should all be wary of.

It is not the first time she is being seen as a face of any magazine covers this one is certainly a different avatar of hers, all together. The actor was earlier seen baring her toned back in a risqué Fendi dress with floral applique details in Filmfare’s July edition.

Elle 2017, the magazine too shared the cover on its Instagram page and the caption says more than this picture and they are worth watching.

In the issue, Anushka Sharma has shared the story of her from the beginning. We know that she is not just an actor but a producer too so what she shared in the issue is what we need to wait to read about. Her initial years in Bollywood saw her play the bubbly girl in films, in a recent interview Anushka Sharma says she has now progressed in her career and moved beyond the extrovert kind of roles.

This idea of the bawse lady also posits being a successful capitalist as the ultimate end-game for women, ignoring volumes of feminist scholarship that suggests that capitalism may be “incompatible with feminist visions of economic and social justice”.

Not only this whenever it comes to sending a strong message through fashion, Anushka Sharma is one of the Bollywood beauties who has constantly made headlines. At a time when the ‘who is a feminist?’ the debate is on in full swing, Sharma went ahead and wore a “We should all be feminists” tee for a cover shoot.
