FDCI to host a series of talks with Pearl Academy at the AIFW

Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) today announced a two-part series of talks on trends of the season, at the Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2016 held in association with Maybelline New York. Fashion gurus will address students from Pearl on March 17-18 at the new venue, the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Lodhi Road.

The #BeSomebodyTalk will take place on March 17 from 12pm to 1pm where industry experts like Anju Modi, Rahul Mishra, Suket Dhir will have a purposeful conversation with Pearl Academy students about their journey in the world of style. It will explore how they were able to establish a strong foothold in the industry. The event will also see the launch of Works of Wonder (WOW), a coffee table book, which captures some of the best project work done by the students in the social welfare space.

The session on day two will revolve around how fashion is consumed through ‘What’s next in Fashion’. Fashion as a creative force has the ability to shape mindsets.

Industry led panel comprising David Abraham (creative director of Abraham & Thakore), Phyllida Jay (author/journalist and anthropologist), Nonita Kalra (Editor Harper's Bazaar), Ganesh Subramanian (founder and CEO of Stylumia), Narendra Kumar Ahmed (Creative Head Amazon India) and Manou (Blogger 'Wearabout') will discuss what’s trending and sustainable consumption, on March 18.

Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI said, “Fashion students are the future of tomorrow and with these discussions we hope to give a meaningful view of what they can expect from a creatively challenging environment. The message to the students will remain about resilience, innovation, sustainability, and risk versus reward.”
