Get set for the IRW

The Indian fashion scene is set to change with the introduction of India Runway Week (IRW). The inaugural event, taking place over four days in August 2013, will feature the best of Indian traditional, contemporary and collaborative fashion, textiles, and accessories from communities around India.

The IRW will also feature a Fashion Fair Marketplace creating direct purchasing links and networking opportunities for industry buyers, retailers and consumers. Featuring over 30 designers, artists and performers, the IRW will also offer national and international attendees a range of cultural performances, tourism experiences and visual art.

“This is the first event of its kind, bringing together Indian fashions, and a diverse group of designers under the one banner. Our aim is to foster Indigenous economic advancement while promoting and enhancing ethical standards and nurturing the Indian design industry. This is a new platform for authentic products to be distributed nationally and internationally”. said IFFD Director Avinash Pathania
