Lakme Fashion Week 2018 – A peek at the gorgeous celebrity lehengas

Now that the curtain has come down on Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018, it is time to reflect on the highlights.

And the prime takeaway has to be the gorgeous lehengas that the celebrities and divas flaunted at the event.

The lehengas ranged from edgy and cool to glamorous and sophisticated, from voluminous and abundant to contemporary and chic.

One just couldn’t get enough of the dream-worthy creations. If designers such as Payal Singhal and Reshma Kunhi dazzled with their head-turning romantic lehengas in dreamy chiffon and silk fabrics, others such as Anushree Reddy showcased beaded and embroidered ensembles.

Here’s a list of the top lehengas that stole hearts.

  • Tennis player Sania Mirza sported a signature blush pink-hued creation by designer Anushree Reddy. The tone-on-tone threadwork and zardozi embroidery with fine pearl, sequin and zardozi detailing were the highlights of this piece.
  • Bipasha Basu showcased a luxurious Reshma Kunni outfit on Saturday night. The lehenga was from Reshma’s floral collection that plays up traditional Indian fabrics with exquisite zari work, thread work, metal accents, ruffles, tassels and pleats.
  • Aditi Rao Hydari wore a gorgeous lehenga created by designer Payal Singhal. The intricate patterns, jaali work, filigree and antique embroidery on the lehenga gave it a magical look.
  • Sushmita Sen looked stunning in a pristine white House of Kotwara ensemble by Muzaffar and Meera Ali. The label’s classic chikankari was enhanced by traditional embroidery techniques such as zardozi, mukaish, and aari.
  • Shilpa Shetty wore an exquisitely embroidered ivory lehenga with a scalloped hem and a matching beaded and embellished blouse, teamed with a rich, ruffled dupatta, from designer Jayanti Reddy’s collection, This One Summer.
