Unconventionally Unique Fashion show for Transgenders hosted in Delhi

In an attempt to spread the message of love and include the transgenders in our society and break the society norms , Under the Rainbow fashion show was held in New Delhi . It featured Miss Trans Queen India , drag queens and differently-abled people . DJ Varun Khullar was the music mixer for the event. The event was held at Kitty Su , the popular pub at The Lalit , New Delhi.

The transgenders dressed up in various segments – from famous designers to Bollywood superstars. They imitated celebrated designers like Rohit Bhal , Pallavi Mohan , Arjun Saluja , Tarun Tahlianai ,Namrata Joshipura and Geisha Designs. It was a glamorous event featuring every latest style and trend by the shunned away part of the society .From lace dresses to sequin dresses , it was a complete show of fashion and style and glamour .The models exhibited poised beauty and strength.

International models  like Carmen Carrera and Andreja Pejić have  already made their mark in the society where they have been accepted and praised for their work. Indian models Anjali Lama and Gauri Arora are too not far behind in this segment and  joined the ‘breaking stereotypes’ queue. When Model Gaurav arora chose to become Gauri Arora , he broke the internet with people supporting him and a small segment of the backward society opposing him. But at the end of the day , It was his choice to break the stereo type and live a life in a way he wanted .

Kitty Su has earlier hosted popular international drag artists such as Alaska 5000, Violet Chachki, Derrick Barry and Kitty Glitter. Keshav Suri, Executive Director, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group also stated ” We are not only hosting successful inclusive events, we are redefining set society norms, and I am proud to say that we are making a difference. It’s not just the government or the institutions, but it is the people who must act to make a difference. All we need for 2018 is pure love ”

Kitty Su succeeded has successfully  broken the conventional stereotypes by organizing the first-ever fashion show, just on the community that was believed to be shunned and neglected. They are also coming upfront and redefining the year-long notions of style and glamour. We applaud their initiative and look forward to many more events like this to uplift the society and curb the social norms.
