Kareena Kapoor is one of the most glamorous actresses of Bollywood. She has played a variety of roles, and while she has not been seen on the screen since she gave birth to her first child, it is only a matter of time before she is back with a bang. Having worked with numerous directors, Kareena has delighted and entertained audiences with her acting skills and her screen presence.

Here we take a look at some of her memorable performances.

  • Refugee (2000)

Refugee, which was directed by J P Dutta, was Kareena Kapoor’s debut movie, and she made an impact right from her first shot. She played the role of Naazneen Ahmed, a young and innocent Pakistani girl. It was the debut movie of Abhishek Bachchan as well, but it was Kareena who stole the show with her easy grace and charm.

  • Asoka (2001)

This was an epic historical drama, directed by Santosh Sivan. Kareena Kapoor had an important role in the movie, which was just her second movie. She enacted the role of Kaurwaki, a princess in exile. She meets Pavan (Shah Rukh Khan), thinking him to be a soldier. Pavan is actually Prince Asoka. Kareena not only matched Shah Rukh Khan in the movie, she made the screen come alive with her sizzling dance and performance.

  • Jab We Met (2007)

This movie was directed by Imtiaz Ali, and it became a huge hit. Kareena played the role of Geet, a young and bubbly Punjabi girl, who meets Aditya (Shahid Kapoor), a depressed Mumbai businessman on an overnight train to Delhi. While attempting to get him back on board when he alights at a station, both are left stranded in the middle of nowhere. What happens to them forms the rest of the story.

  • 3 Idiots (2009)

This was a comedy drama, co-written and directed by Rajkumar Hirani. It was the biggest grosser of the year. Kareena played the role of Pia, who is the daughter of the principal of the college where Rencho (Aamir Khan) studies engineering. The two fall in love, but Rencho disappears after the convocation. Kareena’s performance was outstanding as the young doctor who is principled, kind and humane.

  • Talaash (2012)

Talaash is hailed as one of Aamir Khan’s best movies, though it did not do as well as was expected at the box office. Kareena Kapoor had a meaty role, though she was not romantically paired with Aamir in the movie. She played Rosy, the ghost of a prostitute who dies tragically due to the carelessness of her customers.
