Fukrey Returns is back… and you don’t need a reason to watch it… it’s a must watch

Dark comedy and witty repartee are what seems to be missing from a lot of our Bollywood movies. In the midst of all the controversy surrounding Padmavati, Fukrey Returns comes at the perfect time. From Bholi Punjaban’s mean act to Choocha’s funny antics and the entire fiasco around ‘jugaad,’ the 2013 Fukrey had given movie-goers a number of things to remember the film by. Now, returning after four years. Today I am not going to give you some reasons that why you should watch this film cuz it’s a must watch for everyone, be it chucha or bholi punjaban, they are back again to entertain us.

The Crazy gang is back

It took four and half years for the Fukrey team to come back with the sequel, but then this time, it will be refreshing and new. Directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, the four Fukrey boys, Hunny (Pulkit Samrat), Choocha (Varun Sharma), Lali (Manjot Singh) and Zafar (Ali Fazal) are even crazier now, with a lot of surprises in store.

Sequel to a hit film

If anything, the Fukrey gang had got one thing right in 2013 which was leaving their audience in splits. Now, coming back after four years with the same director Mrigdeep Singh Lamba and with pretty much the same cast, Fukrey Returns picks up right where Fukrey left. So, one reason to watch Fukrey Returns is definitely its legacy of a previous hit franchise film.

 Deja Choo

Fukrey had some interesting words and terms thrown around throughout the movie. The words were interesting and used in a subtle manner, without being too over the top. Remember jugaad? The word actually made it to the Oxford dictionary! Now, Fukrey Returns has another word that is doing the rounds – Deja Choo! Talk about interesting word play!

The latter part of 2017 has been all about comedies. More than serious dramas, the audience have showered their love on masala entertainers like Judwaa 2 and Golmaal Again which went on to break several records at the ticketing counters. Also, worth considering is the fact that both of them are sequels/remakes. Looks like the time is favorable for Fukrey. Let’s see what happens.

Foot-tapping numbers

who can forget the melodious and heartwarming Ambarsariya from Fukrey? Now, the song Ishq De Fanniyar from Fukrey returns remains you of the same. Sung by Jyoti’s Tangri of ‘Ambarsariya’ fame, the song has Shaarib and Toshi behind the consoles. And Mehbooba is more like a mix and gives you that instant energy. Composed by Prem and Harshdeep and sung by Neha Kakkar and Yasser Desai.

Bholi Punjaban is out

Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chadda) has returned from jail like an injured lioness, and stakes have gone high too. Going by the teaser looks like the banters between Bholi and Choocha are probably the strongest points and something to watch out for this time. Interestingly, there is a dialogue saying ‘Bholi hasn’t changed at all’.
