October trailer out: Varun Dhawan’s movie is not a love story but it’s about love

The trailer of Varun Dhawan’s much-anticipated film October is finally here and unlike all his previous ventures, this one rides high on emotions and silence and less on grandeur. Varun Dhawan took to Twitter to share the glimpse of the world he lived with director Shoojit Sircar, resulting in a heartwarming story of Dan and Shiuli.

The film which also marks the debut of Banita Sandhu is ‘a story about love’. Varun, who is currently shooting for Sui Dhaga launched the trailer in October with his team in Mumbai today.

Varun portrays a hotel management student who is working in a five-star hotel as part of the trainee program.

Earlier, Varun tweeted, “October is not a movie about love at first sight. It’s not a movie about hugs, kisses, and dates…”

In the two and a half minute long trailer, we meet Dan played by Varun, who is not happy with his internship. Amid all the frustration, the only solace he finds is in his friend Shiuli aka Banita. After a couple of events which arouse curiosity and suspense around Dan and Shiuli’s relationship, we get to know there are things beyond their love story. Varun is seen walking in and out of a hospital. It is Shiuli who is admitted and Dan becomes her caretaker of sorts. In what possibly could be the result of an accident which lands Shuili on the hospital bed, we see that the first person she remembers is Dan.

At an event ahead of the trailer’s release, Varun told the media that he’s helping Banita cope with the ways of the film industry. Banita is just 20 years old and does not know much about how the media functions here. She doesn’t have a manager so Shoojit dada and I just want to make sure she gets the best and is comfortable cause meeting the massive media and paparazzi can be very overwhelming.

the movie is all set to hit screens on April 13.
