Raid trailer out: Ajay Devgn plays strict Income tax officer to end corruption

Ajay Devgn is back with that intense glare and a power-packed script for his next film Raid, The film, set in 1981, tells the story of an income tax officer in Lucknow, who takes on the ‘powerful corrupt’ in an effort to help the poor.

‘Raid’ is the story of a high profile honest income tax officer who is assigned the task of conducting the raid on one of the powerful wealthy men of the city. The officer is known for his honesty and has been transferred 49 times in his seven-year career.

Ajay plays an honest government officer, whose idealism has forced him to be transferred 49 times in seven years. Such is his idealism that he says that he will not quit fighting corruption even if he is transferred for the fiftieth time.

Raid also stars Ileana D’Cruz in the role of Ajay’s wife who supports her husband through thick and thin. The film is set in the 1980s Uttar Pradesh and will be produced by Bhushan Kumar and Kumar Mangat. Written by Ritesh Shah who also has super-hits like Pink and Airlift to his name, Raid is scheduled to release on March 16, 2018.

Talking about the film, director Raj Kumar Gupta had said, “Raid is a story that needs to be told on the big screen.
