Shraddha Kapoor felicitated at IFFI 2017

Excitement continues to build up at IFFI 2017 in Goa. Shraddha Kapoor was felicitated with the Youth Icon of NextGen of Indian Cinema award, with ace filmmaker Subhash Ghai conferring the honour on the actress.

Shraddha started her film career with a brief role in the 2010 heist film Teen Patti, and followed it with her first leading role in the teen drama Luv Ka The End (2011). However, she made it big with the Mohit Suri directorial venture, Aashiqui 2, which was released in 2013.

The film was a huge hit, raking in multiple crores, and establishing Shraddha as an actress to reckon with.

Incidentally, two of her films, Aashiqui 2 and Ek Villain, were shot in Goa.

The Half Girlfriend star came to the event with her aunt, actress Padmini Kolhapure, who is the sister of her mother, Shivangi Kolhapure Kapoor.

Aashiqui 2 was the first film to be screened at one of the inflated theatres that have been set up at the event.

Some of her other successful films include ABCD 2, Haider and Baaghi.

Her last release, Haseena Parkar, which was directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Nahid Khan, did not do well at the box office, but Shraddha says she has no regrets, adding she will continue to take up challenges.

Shraddha will be seen next in a biopic on Saina Nehwal.
